| New Business to Downtown We are please to welcome 7 new businesses to the Downtown over the last 4 months. Captain Sub Lets make them feel welcome stop in and say "Hi" and welcome them to the Downtown. Yes we are going back in time on June 26 the Bluenose II will sail into our harbour. It’s the 40th birthday of the ship and it will be open to the public on June 27 and 28 and then she departs for Sydney, Cape Breton. This is the only stop outside Nova Scotia so lets give her a warm welcome when she comes into port. In September the, HMS Bounty the most famous Tall

Ship in the world will be sailing in for a
visit. Since the last time she was here in 1997 she has had major work done
to her hull with everything below the water being replaced at a cost of 1.5
million US She now is under new owners and sails out of Greenport Long
Island. She is famous for her Motion Pictures made about Mutiny on the Bounty first in 1962 with Trevor Howard as Bligh, Marlon Brando as Christian. Then again in 1982 with Anthony Hopkins as Bligh, Mel Gibson as Christian. When we get the dates confirmed we will be letting everyone know and hope to see you all down by the water when she sails into our port.
The Annual meeting of the Downtown Summerside Inc. is booked for Wednesday May 7, 2003 Time: 7:00 pm Place: Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre Come out and see what the Board of Directors of Downtown Summerside Inc. have made happen in 2002 & 2003 We are also looking for new faces for the Board of Directors and our Committees so if you have some Free Time we would love to have you .
