Tall Ships Sailing to Summerside

The Tall Ships have come and gone, however not before leaving a lasting impression on the many viewers who visited these majestic vessels.

September 4-7 welcomed the Tall Ship THE PRIDE OF BALTIMORE to Summerside’s port where over 2000 visited her beautiful deck.

September 23-25 welcomed the Tall Ships THE LARINDA and THE HMS BOUNTY to port. Unfortunately, this proved to be THE LARINDA’s final voyage as she succumbed to Hurricane Juan’s vicious wind and rain and sank on Sunday, September 28, 2003 in the port of Halifax.

On a more positive note, the Tall Ship THE CALEDONIA

visited Summerside’s port to announce her intention to be Summerside’s first cruise ship with 5-7 stops in Summerside in 2004. She carries with her a crew of 20 and 80 passengers.

.

Rain or shine Patrick was hard at work ensuring Downtown remained a clean and safe place to shop.

Rhonda, Jessica, and Patrick have now completed their terms with Downtown Summerside and on behalf of the office, I would like to thank them and the four youth workers who were part of our 1st Ask Me program and facilitators Wayne MacFarland and Janet O’Donnell also contributed to this office, for their hard work and dedication .
