Downtown Summerside organized a new event this summer, the 1st annual Kokanee Triathalon, which was held on July 18th at Green's Shore. The race began when teams of four constructed a raft with 14 logs and 100 feet of rope, which they raced around a mark, a quarter of a mile out into the Summerside Harbour. As the teams returned to shore, they put on their running shoes and ran to the Harbour Quay, where wheelbarrows were the final challenge to the finish line. The winning team was Consolidated Credit Union II, team members were, Ron Casey, Darren Reeves, Steven Reeves and Allan Gaudet.Tall Ships Sailing to Summerside
